Released as part of Teeling’s prestigious Rising Reserve Series, this limited-edition whiskey celebrates the revival of Dublin whiskey while showcasing some of the oldest stocks available to the Teeling Whiskey Company. The inaugural release in the series is a 21-year-old single malt initially matured in ex-bourbon casks before receiving a finishing period in rare Carcavelos wine casks from Portugal. This unique maturation regime adds an extra dimension of complexity, layering the spirit’s naturally fruity character with subtle sweetness, spice and rich texture. Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, it retains both depth and authenticity while allowing the whiskey’s character to shine through. 

After more than two decades of maturation, the whiskey displays remarkable elegance and balance. Aromatically, it offers a sophisticated interplay of orchard fruits, citrus, honeyed sweetness and mature oak. The palate is rich and layered, revealing notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, caramel, spice and toasted nuts, supported by a silky mouthfeel. The influence of the Carcavelos casks contributes additional complexity without overwhelming the distillate’s underlying character.
